Clutch From Start to Finish

Frank Clegg Leatherworks

Recently I had the pleasure of working with designer Frank Clegg on an exclusive clutch design to give away on CGWP. I spent a Saturday at his factory in Fall River, MA where I observed the process of making the bag by hand from start to finish. For what appears to be a simple design, a great deal of work went into each step. I was grateful for the experience to watch a true craftsman in his element.

Frank’s bags are gorgeous and classic. It was hard to decide which one would be best for the giveaway. With the approach of Fall, I wanted to introduce a simple clutch perfect for carrying around a few essentials such as an iPad, wallet, and cell phone. We tweaked a design he had in his collection to accommodate more items, and I selected the colors from the various high-quality leather hides he has in the factory. The combination of red, green, and navy are a favorite of mine and I was excited to incorporate the three colors into the clutch. I was very pleased with the final product. Frank generously gifted me with the bag featured in this post, and is making a second clutch for one of my readers.

Enter to win the one of a kind Frank Clegg clutch with the option to monogram your initials. A winner will be announced on Thursday, August 30th. Contest ends Wednesday at midnight. Best of luck to all who participate!

How amazing! Here in Portugal there are plenty of craftsmen who make the most gorgeous pieces, unfortunately these people are still unused to marketing their products and are little known. I really do hope that changes

Congratulations on designing a clutch with Frank Clegg, Sarah!
Red, blue, and green are all lovely colors and look amazingly classy when paired together.
The clutch that you designed is elegant and very simple. It would definitely be the perfect addition to anyone's fall wardrobe!

Thanks so much for sharing these photos of the process that goes into making and designing a clutch.
In addition, thank you (and Frank) for giving one of those amazing clutches away!
Whoever wins it will be one lucky ducky!

Oh and while we're speaking of the clutch, I would just like to point out that it matches your outfit here perfectly.
The blue, the red, and the pretty leather.
    What an awesome coincidence! πŸ™‚

LOVE your whole out fit, especially the shirt it looks so preppy cool and comfy with the red pants and neutral flats. You always look elegant in skirts and dresses, but my favorites are when you wear chinos or jeans, so effortless chic. May I ask where your shirt and pants are from?
