Costa Rica Day 1

A holiday before the holidays was just what I needed. This was my first trip to Costa Rica and I loved every second of it. Four Seasons hosted our stay and we spent a restful week exploring, swimming, dining (I will be dreaming about the food here for months to come), and learning about the local culture. The resort was situated on the Papagayo Peninsula, and had two beautiful beaches and four pools to enjoy. Each day offered a new schedule of activities and excursions (off property) to choose from. We didn’t have a lot of time on our trip but I would love to go back to hike the local rain forests, view the Arenal Volcano, horseback ride, and/or go zip lining.

Coffee break at Tico’s. The iced coffee here just might be the best I have ever had.
Morning feast. I had the banana cream french toast every morning of our trip.

On the first day of our trip we started off with a morning hike. I was not prepared to climb
700 wooden stairs in the heat, but as you can see the view was worth it. The hill-side, overlooking the Pacific Ocean, was lush and green as Costa Rica is currently in it’s rainy season. I was really excited to see a family of Howler monkeys in the trees along the way.
Afternoon by the Pool
Our room had it’s own plunge pool. It was a beautiful spot to enjoy the sunset.

Latin dancing lessons with our Four Seasons instructor.
Kiel and I practiced the Salsa, the Merengue, and the Rumba.

Next time you go to Costa Rica, 100% go see the Arenal Volcano and then take a trip to the hot springs! That day was one of those experiences that I will never forget!

Looks like you both had an awesome vacation! My husband and I went to Costa Rica a few years ago and had a blast. I'm bummed you didn't get a chance to zipline through the rainforest or visit the volcano, but at least now you have an excuse to go back! 🙂

Stunning!! You should go to Tabacon Spa, I've heard it's beautiful. Nice place to skip the cold in NY. You must go to Cancún. I LOVE YOUR STYLE by the way…
