I recently did a takeover for Architectural Digest on Instagram  and shared some of my favorite locations in Rhode Island. In order from top to bottom here are a few of my must see places in the Ocean State.

1. At the very top of my list is the Ocean House in Watch Hill. It’s a gorgeous Victorian-Styled Waterfront hotel with impeccable decor, beautiful grounds, and stunning views of the ocean. I love to get brunch there on Sundaysโ€”the food is amazing!

2. At the end of the Mohegan Bluffs trail on Block Island is a beautiful, hundred-step wooden stairway leading to the shoreline with must-see views of the Atlantic Ocean. Stand on the rocky beach below and take in the beauty of the bluffs looming large above.

3. The Towers in Narragansett is a Rhode Island icon, providing a beautiful backdrop for beachgoers. Today it serves as a venue for social events, including ballroom dancing on Wednesdays and live music on Thursdays.

4. One of the best places in Rhode Island to view the sunset is on the lawn at Castle Hill. I love to sit on the Adirondack chairs with a group of friends and enjoy a delicious cocktail while admiring the boats that pass by.

5. No summer is complete without a visit to the Green Animals Topiary Garden in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. A former summer estate, the one-of-a-kind property (now owned by the Newport Preservation Society) has over 80 sculptured trees, including an elephant, teddy bear, reindeer, pineapple, and a horse and rider.

6. The best nights in Newport end with dinner and dancing at the Clarke Cooke House Skybar. The pink-and-white striped awnings and tables lit by candlelight create a magical atmosphere to socialize with friends old and new. Get the Snowball in Hell for dessert.
