“Forever Green” Our Wedding Day

“My darling Sarah,  in you I have found the love to light up this entire World a thousand times.  You are my closest, dearest, truest friend and I promise to be by your side forever.” –Kiel

Preparing for the best day of our life last year, finding our favorite outfits we would ever wear.

The moment I stepped out to the greatest adventure of my life

“You are my warmth in the cold. You are forever my other half.  You are my life after life.  You are forever my evergreen”

In this here moment I was the happiest I had ever been in my entire life.  I laughed and abruptly excused myself from the entire wedding to take a picture.  A picture to always look back on and say “this is the me I always want to be.” Not for me but for her, because she deserves the happiest man I can be as a thank you to each and everyday that she is by my side for the rest of my life”. –Kiel

Kiel & Sarah 2010-2015: Pictures taken exactly 5 years apart 😊. Traditions fortify our existence by the virtue of love.  Present experiences and past memories continuously intertwine our souls into a great untangable knot.  At the end, what had happened was our life. Regardless of point, rhyme, or reason, we improved each other’s beings by creating and carrying on traditions together with each passing season.

We hopped into our Jeep Wagoneer and drove back home to be with family and friends for apple pie, cake, mom’s gingerbread cookies, Christmas music, champagne and eggnog.  It was the most perfect day and we both agreed that all the little things we already had was all we ever needed to live happily ever after.

Henry’s Christmas Tree Farm 2010

We ran from the wedding. Kiel lifted me off my feet and carried me into our wagon.  We drove away from the farm, the cheering family, the gorgeous ceremony.  We were in complete silence.  So many feeling and thoughts.  At the exact same moment after 7 minutes of silence we both looked at each other and exclaimed “we’re married!”. Kiel hit the brakes.  We sat on the side of road eyes full of tears and came to the realization of what just happened.  Our lives were now one life and everything was more beautiful because of it.

Traditions
are very important to Kiel and I. Every year since we first started
dating we would visit Henry’s Christmas Tree Farm to pick out our tree.
The endless rows of evergreens make it such a magical place to bundle up
and walk through on a chilly winter afternoon. We look forward to our
time there every year. When it came time to pick out a venue we knew the
Christmas tree farm was the perfect place to say I do.

We
had a small ceremony amongst close family and hundreds of twinkling
lights. It was slightly raining when I stepped out of the Wagoneer to
meet Kiel at the altar. To some this might have been upsetting but for
us it only enhanced the atmosphere. Our special moment was finally here!
After we said our vows we ran from the wedding. Kiel lifted me off my
feet and carried me into our wagon. We drove away from the farm, the
cheering family, and the gorgeous ceremony in complete silence. There
were so many feelings and thoughts. At the exact same moment after seven
minutes of silence we both looked at each other and exclaimed “we’re
married!” Kiel hit the brakes. We sat on the side of the road with eyes
full of tears and came to the realization of what just happened. Our
lives were now one life, and everything was more beautiful because of
it.
