Newport summer’s are legendary, but I
have always preferred Newport in the Winter.  In the summer it can get
too crowded to really stop and appreciate the charming shops along the
wharf, or to enjoy a round of oyster’s at Clarke’s Cooke House while
seated comfortably by the fireplace. I love how festive everything on
the island looks this time of year.

I partnered with Nordstrom
to showcase some of my favorite winter pieces that make walking around
coastal New England in the freezing cold enjoyable. This Patagonia down
jacket couldn’t have been more perfect for my jaunt by the sea.
I ordered it online and when I first took it out of the shipping box I
wasn’t sure how warm it would be as it looked rather light-weight. I was
so happy to find that it was surprisingly very warm, comfortable, and
easy to move around in. I bought a similar jacket from another brand
last year and I hardly ever wore it as it was heavy and stiff. This
jacket will be perfect for my winter travels at the end of this month
where I need every inch of space in my suitcase I can get.

My sweater,
which is not really visible in this post, was really cozy and I loved
the look of it. It’s a classic staple for the winter months ahead. I
tend to wear a lot of turtlenecks this time of year. My other staple is
more often than not Hunter Boots. I have a few pairs but couldn’t resist
adding this mint green pair sold at Nordstrom
to my collection. The Ugg socks I wore with them made my feet so warm.
Good Boot socks are hard to find and when I do I try my best not to lose
them!

Special thank you to Nordstrom for sponsoring this post!

I so enjoy the landscapes that are often featured in your blog. I am a Midwestern girl and have hope of visiting the New England states. What is a must see place that you would recommend I start?

When I've read your blog in the past the words always wrap around the pictures in a really weird way which makes it hard to read. But this post didn't have that problem. All the writing was at the bottom of the post which was super nice!
