After Christmas Blues

Dress: J.Crew Shirt: Kate Spade c/o (old, similar here) Shoes: J.Crew Bag: YSL Earrings: Tory Burch (also love these) Bracelets: Kate Spade c/0

One of my New Year's resolutions for 2018 is to get better at planning ahead. Almost everything I do is last minute, including shopping. If I have a wedding or big event I usually end up buying 2 or 3 dresses, three days beforehand, in case the original dress I have in mind doesn't work out. I love shopping at Nordstrom because they not only have so many great selections but they offer free shipping and returns. Nordstrom makes it easy to ship the dresses I don't want back and the return is always processed very quickly. I love seeing the money back in my account right away. Their expedited shipping is also inexpensive when compared to other online retailers. See more of their services and shipping prices here

I avoid malls for the most part but if you are the type of person that loves to try before you buy, Nordstrom also offers customers the opportunity to reserve pieces online to try on in store. This will save a lot of time as I never enjoy trying to look for specific items scattered throughout departments. It's great that the sales team can have the clothing ready for customers beforehand. Nordstrom will even go so far as to deliver items you order online and pick up in store right to your car via curbside pickup. That is a service I would definitely take advantage of! I love how convenient they make it to shop.

I'm sad that Christmas is over but I'm looking forward to the New Year! In this post I featured an outfit that I've worn out a couple of times and will probably end up wearing to dinner on New Year's Eve. It's just dressy enough and I love how the blue velvet dress looks with a white ruffled collared shirt underneath. I linked a few different velvet dress and dressy shirt options below that I'm also loving!

Special thank you to Nordstrom for sponsoring this post!

Dashing Through the Snow

Coat: Burberry (old, similar) Dress: Kiel James Patrick Shoes: J.Crew Bag: Tory Burch Scarf: Anthropologie (old, also love this oneTights: Kate Spade
Kiel: Flannel: Kiel James Patrick
Harris: Onsie: Janie and Jack c/o

Anyone else dreaming of  a white Christmas? We were really lucky to see snow last week. I can't remember the last time it snowed in December. Providence was looking especially pretty. I love seeing all of the classically decorated homes on the East Side and the snow made everything even more beautiful.

I tend to wear a lot of plaid this time of year. I may be a little biased but our Kiel James Patrick flannel dresses are the perfect piece to wear if you want to dress up but still feel comfortable. (If you plan on ordering one and are in between sizes, size up. It runs on the small side.)  They have been a big hit this season and we were really lucky to get more in stock this week. Thank you so much to everyone who has purchased one. We really appreciate your support!

We sold out so quickly on the initial run that I was unable to host a giveaway. Now that we have more in stock I'm excited to announce I'm giving away a dress to three winners this week. Enter with Rafflecopter below for your chance to win a dress. The contest will begin today and end on Thursday December 21st at 11:59 pm EST. I will announce the winners on Friday. Good Luck!

This weekend we released our limited edition Kiel James Patrick McCallister sweater. Only 100 were made. Most of them have sold out already but we might still have a few left online. Kiel and I wore matching sweaters for a short walk around Providence. We bundled up Harris in this adorable coverall from LL Bean. It's sized for 0-3 months but still really big on him. I have a feeling it will fit him perfectly later this winter. He looked so cute bundled up and the coverall kept him warm and cozy.

There are so many beautifully decorated houses in Providence this year. I had to take a picture of this festive classic doorstep. I really love seeing how people decorate their homes for the holidays! It aways puts me in the spirit of the season.

Wrapping gifts nice says you care twice -- I've only wrapped a few gifts so far. I still have quite a bit of Christmas shopping to do. I tend to be last minute with a lot of things but this year even more so. We introduced these adorable Kiel James Patrick sweater gift tags last week. I get very excited when it comes to buying wrapping paper, bows, tags, and ribbon. It was really nice to use own product this year. We also released these Christmas cards and a Bennie 2018 calendar

It finally snowed in Rhode Island this weekend! The snow makes everything more magical and cozy, especially right before Christmas. Kiel and I spent most of this weekend indoors  snuggling with Harris and it was perfect. I  enjoyed waffles made by Kiel in the morning and Hallmark movies all day. (We also watched Die Hard. According to Kiel it's a Christmas movie. I didn't hate it!) I was especially comfy on the couch covered with this faux fur Pottery Barn blanket. They recently sent it to Kiel and I. It's my new favorite blanket and Bennie loves it too!

Red and Gold Decorations

Sweater: Sandro Jeans: 7 for all mankind c/o Shoes: Carolina Espinosa (similar) Bag: Mansur Gavriel c/o Hat: Anthropologie (similar) Glasses: Karen Walker
Kiel:  Sweater: Ralph Lauren (vintage) Pants: 7 for all mankind c/o Boots: LL Bean

This has been the best weekend for decorating. Kiel and I not only put up our Christmas tree but we also bought several wreaths and garland to dress up the outside of our house. Kiel loves to dress festively almost every day this time of year. He always pairs one of his vintage holiday sweaters with a classic pair of cords or chinos. The pants featured today were from 7 for all mankind. For him they were an ideal fit, not to0 tight and not too loose. He was really happy with the quality of the material.

We both dressed casually this weekend. I usually cannot resist a holiday skirt or dress to wear when decorating but I really wanted to be comfortable. These jeans felt well worn and broken, just the way I like it. I love the pearl detailing at the top of the pants. It's a fun and unexpected touch that also works for holiday. See more of our 7 for all mankind pants picks for him and her below.

Special thank you to 7 for all mankind for sponsoring this post!
