The Dog Polo

Sweater: Talbots c/o  Polo: Ralph Lauren c/o Jeans: Ralph Lauren Shoes: M.Gemi  c/o (this color sold out) Glasses: Gucci
Kiel: Jacket: Ralph Lauren (similar) Polo: Ralph Lauren c/o Pants: Ralph Lauren Boots: LL Bean Glasses: Gucci
Bennie: Sweater: Ralph Lauren c/o

In honor of #NationalPuppyDay Ralph Lauren sent Kiel and I these adorable custom golden retriever polos and a sweater for Bennie. The polos are honestly one of the cutest things I have ever seen. The detailing on the embroidery is impeccable. I wish I had a more close up shot. It was really cold when we took these images.

If you're a dog lover or know someone that is, this shirt can be customized with 11 different dog breeds including a Beagle, Yorkie, French Bulldog, and King Charles Spaniel. Available colors are black for men, and gray and white for women. I cannot think of a more perfect gift for a fellow dog aficionado.

Office Space

Blazer: J.Crew Shirt: J.Crew Pants: J.Crew Shoes: Everlane c/o Necklace: Kiel James Patrick Bracelet: Kiel James Patrick

Last year our office was photographed to be featured in Sally Coulthard's latest book, Studio: Creative Spaces for Creative People. The book finally came out last week and I was really excited to see our feature and her photographic take on our office space. Kiel and I were so happy with the way it turned out. It's always fun to see another person's fresh perspective on something we are used to seeing every day. An office space can be so personal. I shared images from the book above.

While our feature is just a small part of the story, Studio is a really inspiring look into a wide range of creative spaces and the people behind them (artists, painters, textile designers, fashion designers, and bloggers). Coulthard gives great advice on how to bring a space together at every budget from planning a layout, to finding decor that works for you. A creative space can be a room or a small corner of a room. This book provides wonderful insight into the importance of creating a space that supports your passion. Get ready to be inspired!

(The photos of Kiel and I were not featured in the book.)

Spring for the Classics

While I know that Spring is just around the corner, it still feels like a long way off with Winter Storm Stella on the horizon. I still can't believe we are getting 18-24" of snow tommorow. Every March, it seems like New England always has a couple weeks of warmer weather to tease us, before hitting us with more snow and much colder temps. In like a lion and out like a lamb... fingers crossed! This year is no different. While I'm staying cozy indoors I wanted to share a few of my key Spring pieces. These are the staples that I keep going back to year after year. They are also great for mixing and matching.

Light Blue Skirt (1st photo): As the weather starts to warm up I like to slowly incorporate lighter colors into my wardrobe. Light blue always feels so Springy to me. It's refreshing after wearing mostly Navy in the winter. I love to wear a light blue skirt with a cable knit sweater or under a light trench coat with a simple white blouse. It adds the perfect pop of color. This outfit was featured in one of my favorite posts from last Spring, the Newport Ledges. I purchased the skirt from Club Monaco and the shirt from J.Crew. Club Monaco has a similar style skirt this year in white. I love these light blue skirts here and here

Striped T-shirts (2nd photo): This is a very basic piece that looks good with pretty much everything. I love to wear one with a dressy skirt to make my look more casual or with white pants for a classic look. If the weather is chilly, striped t-shirts look great under a blazer or sweater. It can also be fun to mix stripes with other patterns such as florals. The striped t-shirt I'm wearing in the second photo (see full post here) is an older one from J.Crew that I paired with a Cynthia Rowley skirt.  I found a similar style at J.Crew Factory this season.

ShirtDress (3rd photo): Shirtdresses are my Spring and Summer go to. They look polished and effortless at the same time. The dress I'm wearing in this photo is from Kate Spade. I featured it in this post last year. It's one of my favorite dresses. I have my eye on this and this dress.

Gingham (4th photo): I will never get enough of this pattern. My eyes instantly gravitate towards it and I cannot help buying new gingham pieces every season. It's impossible to resist! This matching set was from DVF a couple of years ago. I featured it on my trip to Charleston here. I'm obsessed with this skirt from Zara.  It couldn't be more perfect. I also like this piece from Tuckernuck

Eyelet Shirts (5th photo): Eyelet details always make every outfit appear more feminine and fun. I love pairing an eyelet shirt with a pair of jeans for a romantic look. This shirt was from Tory Burch featured in another one of my favorite posts, The Morgan Suite. I bought this eyelet cropped top in two different colors.

It's All in the Bag

Bag: Mansur Gavriel Phone Case: Kiel James Patrick Glasses: Miu Miu (old, also love this pair) Necklace: Kiel James Patrick Bracelet: Kiel James Patrick Lip Balm: Fresh

All in the bag for an evening out. Items not featured, my debit card and license. This bag is another purchase I couldn't resist buying from Mansur Gavriel. I've worn it out to dinner a few times and to a wedding this past fall. It's a timeless piece with an elegant  look that I love.

Featured in my bag:

Sunnies: I purchased this pair on my trip to Italy a couple of years ago. They add a little flair to a classic outfit. I love to wear them when I feel like my outfit needs a little something extra. These shades by Karen Walker are my everyday go to.

Phone Case: I might be a little biased but I love our Kiel James Patrick hand-painted phone cases. This one was my design so I'm especially attached to it. The site of topiaries and ginger jars make me very happy. Every leather phone case is embossed and hand-painted at our factory by our team of local artisans. This particular design is really intricate and takes about 3 hours to paint. We make each case to order, and a monogram is the final touch.

Necklace & Bracelet: I always carry jewelry with me just in case. I like to have options that can switch up the look of an outfit. I've been wearing the Simply Pearlfect necklace for months. It's an everyday piece that looks great with everything. The bow bracelet is too cute. While I cannot wear it with everything I love to wear it with a really feminine dress or top.

Lip Balm: My lips tend to get really dry in the winter. To avoid chapped lips I always wear a lip balm or lipstick. I've been wearing this sugar nourishing lip balm from Fresh all winter. It soothes my lips and I love how subtle it is. (I was sent a few products by Fresh to try out and also love their Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream. I put it on every night before bed and it leaves my skin feeling fresh in the morning.)

The flamingo lipstick also in this feature is the prettiest shade of pink. I purchased it from Anthropologie but they no longer carry it. I will admit I was initially drawn to the packaging but I ended up really liking the color.

Dress: Sea Sandals: Splendid Clutch: Tuckernuck (also love this one) Scarf: J.Crew (n/a, similar) Glasses: Karen Walker

Now that I'm back in Rhode Island, I'm really missing that Charleston sunshine! I loved wearing my warmer weather clothes such as this eyelet dress by Sea that I purchased from Nordstrom. The scalloped hem and oversized eyelets are the prettiest details. It's a great piece to pack for long weekends. I was able to take it out of my luggage and put it on without ironing, which is always a treat! I'm really look forward to Spring in New England and wearing more dresses. I shared a few favorites from Nordstrom this season below.

Special thank you to Nordstrom for sponsoring this post.

Bedroom Theater

Bed: Anthropologie  (Duck Egg) Desk: One Kings Lane Baskets: Pottery Barn Gingham Blanket: Nantucket Looms c/o Ginger Jars: Country Curtains 1,2 Projector: Epson Home Cinema 1440

When I'm not working on our new projects for Kiel James Patrick, I've been very content staying home to catch up on reading (I just finished Caravel and am currently reading the new Sophie Kinsella novel My Not So Perfect Life) or watch movies. In the winter I always prefer to cuddle up inside rather than brave the cold. Kiel and I installed this Epson projector right before Christmas and it has been a game changer. We have never liked the look of a big TV and we love how the screen can go up to the ceiling when we are not using it. The projector itself is hidden in the chest at the foot of our bed. We cut a square trap door with hinges that can be open and closed. We didn't want the projector to be visible and it was the best way we could think of to hide it.

Every movie we watch feels just like being at the cinema from the comfort of our bed. We couldn't resist rewatching some of our favorite shows such as Stranger Things and Game of Thrones on the 100 inch screen. For a few weeks we were on a Disney kick and watched all of our favorite classic movies such as Beauty and the Beast. Anyone else excited for the new movie? Friday nights have officially become pizza nights.

(Before purchasing this projector we did a lot of research and read through all of the reviews. We could not be happier with this purchase. Even with the lights on the screen can be seen perfectly.)
