I have this coat in purple, it's fast becoming my favorite. The camel version is lovely. An added bonus is that gold buttons are made in Waterbury, CT!

A lot to like in this look, Vickers. I'm especially fond of the anchor buttons and the texture in the skirt.

I regret not getting this coat. The mint and the camel make a lovely colour combination

  10. Brittany on January 20, 2012 at 10:21 am

The mint color palette looks great with your dark hair. Question – are you wearing nude stockings? I've been toying with this idea, but have been unable to find the right brand and color. What are your thoughts?

    • Sarah Vickers on January 20, 2012 at 2:20 pm

Thank you! I often wear nude stockings. In the winter it is far too cold to go bare-legged and sometimes the colored tights don't match well with the outfit I am wearing. I always make sure they are sheer and almost gossamer like in appearance. It is also very important that the stockings match your skin. In the past I have purchased nude stockings from J Crew, and Donna Karan has a great selection.

I love the diferent shades of blue. Especially the necklace 🙂

  12. Melanie Ann on January 20, 2012 at 1:52 pm

I'm with Brittany. Is it okay to go bare-legged in winter or do you wear nude stockings? Seems like nude stockings have fallen out of fashion lately.

    • Sarah Vickers on January 20, 2012 at 2:33 pm

      Hi Melanie,
Please refer to my answer to Brittany. I feel like nude stockings are the type of thing that are never really in or out of fashion. There are definitely skin colored tights that should never be worn, i.e. tan tights on a person with pale skin. As long as they are sheer and match your skin tone they always look great. During the winter they are so much more practical for the girl who likes to dress up but doesn't want to freeze. Hope this answers your question.

Regal- very Kate Middleton meets Jackie Kennedy. Love the details (necklace over turtleneck and anchor buttons)and the natural but groomed hair.

I love the coat, shoes, turtleneck, and especially the bag! Ebay or vintage find?

Thank you! I'm unsure… Someone gave me the bag as a birthday present. It turned out being the gift I use the most.
