Fall would not be complete without a day of apple picking. We usually wait until the weather is just crisp enough to wear our favorite flannels and boots. This year we went with Carly, Garrett and the pups to Barden Family Orchard. It was such a fun day and the dogs made it an especially memorable experience.

I've been looking for a new apple pie recipe to try out this fall. Would you share your cast iron skillet pie recipe and the type of apples you use?

    • Sarah Vickers on October 6, 2016 at 12:12 pm

I found this recipe on pinterest 🙂 Here is the link from last year's post with the recipe https://www.classygirlswearpearls.com/2015/10/crafty-apples.html?m=1

    • Jacky Bartlett on October 6, 2016 at 12:36 pm

Thanks, Sarah, for recommending a recipe you've tried, and liked enough to make more than once! I'll be making this for a gathering of musician friends this weekend

This is more a question, but how comfortable are your Hunter boots? I've been wanting to buy some but have a bad taste in my mouth as well as blisters on my feet from previous (albeit cheaper) rain boots. Love all the pics… you've really helped me put together the New England look I always wanted 🙂

    • Sarah Vickers on October 6, 2016 at 12:09 pm

My boots are really comfortable! You have to get the Tour boot style. They have a lot more flexibility and do not feel clunky at all. I have been wearing this pair of green boots for the last 4 years and they show very little (if any) wear and tear.

Truly beautiful photos! I love seeing the excursions that you, KJP, and your friends go on while traveling around New England. I used to live in Boston and your posts make me miss it so much! Luckily, fall in Michigan is gorgeous and charming as well. Take a look at some of my blog posts on http://www.papermarina.com 🙂 All the best!
