“I’m talking about a little place called ASPEN.”
I cannot look at a Nordic sweater without ski lodges, roaring fires and
Navajo rugs popping into my head. Often
hand-made and warm enough to rescue you from a day in a bulky coat, the Nordic sweater
is my weapon of choice against the cold, while remaining effortlessly
fashionable. I have acquired quite the
collection over the years. Some of these pieces keep me warm and toasty even in
20 degree weather.
I’ve
been fascinated by these intricate hand-crafted sweaters for many years and
decided to do a little research into their origin and history.

Acquired my latest dress favorite at ZuZu’s in East Greenwich, before hopping a train to sneak off for a couple of days to NYC
fashion week weekend. Started off the night with a Passion Iced Tea
from Starbucks and relaxed for a few hours with my kindle in hand. Fred Castleberry swung by our hotel, and we ducked out to the Tommy Hilfiger men’s show to see the upcoming styles for F/W 12. Kiel and Fred horsed around, while I mingled with a few familiar faces including Brad Goreski who was looking dapper as ever. The show was quite interesting introducing a classic/militant twist.

Was not expecting our cold weather getaway down to Palm Beach this November to be featured in this March’s issue of Town and Country. We had been staying with friends Blair and Belton from Next Step Realty to attend Lilly Pulitzers’ colorful 80th B-Day. Fred on a whim thought it’d be a great idea to have a pic taken of us all at Belton’s to feature on his wonderful fashion blog Unabashedly Prep. Thrilled to now have it featured in my favorite lifestyle Magazine as well.

–Let’s face it: Guys are picky and seemingly have everything
they could want or need. It’s hard to appease the self-satisfying
gentleman.
I put a lot of thought into gift giving for my own special darling. Throughout the year, I take the time to hunt
for gifts that might not be an obvious necessity or an easy acquirement, in
order to offer a true surprise for pesky gift giving holidays.
Antique Binoculars: During the months of February and March we
walk out to Rome Point in North Kingston to watch seals dive off rocks a little
ways out in the bay. I found this pair
of binoculars for $15.00 at an estate sale and am certain Kiel will enjoy getting
a closer view of his whiskery friends.
