After Christmas Blues

Dress: J.Crew Shirt: Kate Spade c/o (old, similar here) Shoes: J.Crew Bag: YSL Earrings: Tory Burch (also love these) Bracelets: Kate Spade c/0

One of my New Year’s resolutions for 2018 is to get better at planning ahead. Almost everything I do is last minute, including shopping. If I have a wedding or big event I usually end up buying 2 or 3 dresses, three days beforehand, in case the original dress I have in mind doesn’t work out. I love shopping at Nordstrom because they not only have so many great selections but they offer free shipping and returns. Nordstrom makes it easy to ship the dresses I don’t want back and the return is always processed very quickly. I love seeing the money back in my account right away. Their expedited shipping is also inexpensive when compared to other online retailers. See more of their services and shipping prices here.
I avoid malls for the most part but if you are the type of person that loves to try before you buy, Nordstrom also offers customers the opportunity to reserve pieces online to try on in store. This will save a lot of time as I never enjoy trying to look for specific items scattered throughout departments. It’s great that the sales team can have the clothing ready for customers beforehand. Nordstrom will even go so far as to deliver items you order online and pick up in store right to your car via curbside pickup. That is a service I would definitely take advantage of! I love how convenient they make it to shop.
I’m sad that Christmas is over but I’m looking forward to the New Year! In this post I featured an outfit that I’ve worn out a couple of times and will probably end up wearing to dinner on New Year’s Eve. It’s just dressy enough and I love how the blue velvet dress looks with a white ruffled collared shirt underneath. I linked a few different velvet dress and dressy shirt options below that I’m also loving!
Special thank you to Nordstrom for sponsoring this post!

Hi Sarah! Loved seeing this post & all of your holiday posts from this season- thanks for being my style inspiration! I love buying clothes but usually consider shoes & jewelry as afterthoughts. Seeing your posts has made me realize how a simple necklace or shoes with a pop of color can really be a game changer in an outfit! I hope your family had a wonderful holiday and that Harris had a merry first Christmas!
