Sharing images from our travels in London. Kiel and I popped into the city to visit a couple of friends who were in town. We booked a room at the Chesterfield Mayfair hotel in Mayfair for our stay. A few years back we stayed there and loved that the location was within perfect walking distance to many of the must see sights including Buckingham Palace, Big Ben (now under construction), the London eye, shopping on Bond street, and Hyde Park. It felt wonderful to walk everywhere. Spring was definitely in the air with the arrival of daffodils and cherry blossoms.
Dressing for the in between season is always a challenge. It’s far too cold for official spring clothes but the thought of bundling up in another heavy sweater and a pair of winter boots fills me with dread. Living in New England my everyday attire during the winter has become some version of a sweater, jeans, and boots. I really miss dressing up and wearing shoes without socks. Once the snow officially melts, blazers become a big part of my everyday uniform. It’s basically a light coat that can be worn all day — it really completes the look of almost any outfit. I love wearing my blazers over dresses, springy blouses, light cable knit sweaters, or casually with jeans and loafers. It’s a staple that I tend to wear from early April right through September.
Going through photos of our recent trip to England and wanted to share our adventures in West Lulworth. We started off our excursion at the Dyson Headquarters in Malmesbury and ended our trip on the coast. In between we visited friends in London and explored the Cotswolds. I was really excited to see the Jurassic Coast and Durdle Door. Initially it wasn’t a part of our plan as we were supposed to fly home this past Sunday, but added a couple of extra days to our trip to avoid the snowstorm back home. I’m really glad we did as there is currently a foot of snow still on the ground here!
