Christmas Guest Room
Nothing quite like home for the holidays! I gave our guest bedroom a Christmas makeover in collaboration with Pottery Barn, and now it is the coziest room in our house. Considering temporarily moving our bedroom just for the month of December. To dress up this space for the season, we added a border of garland and lights around the ceiling and tv. The lit up garland around the ceiling is battery operated from Home Depot. Not a visible cord in sight and the battery lasts a a long time. Small lit up Christmas trees, a decorated 3 foot tree, and wreaths completed the effect I was going for — lots of lights and greenery. You can only imagine how cozy it is in there to watch movies, just ask Maple and Bennie.
The Summerville Dresser and Bed, were gifted from Pottery Barn, in addition to the nightstands. This room is a small, slightly narrow space and can be tricky to decorate with the placement of the windows. This set fit perfectly and I love the beautiful, classic farmhouse aesthetic of it. Rich, green velvet curtains, a holiday patchwork quilt, and decorative pillows added the final touches. Along with candles (the flameless birch pillar candles look so realistic and can be set on a timer), books, and some pieces of art that we have collected over the years. I’m always on the hunt for good folk art. Not folk art, but the mouse bust I picked up from my favorite shop in Newport, Rhode Island, always warms my heart. Excited to cozy up in this space and watch movies all season long!
