Last week we packed our bags and headed to the Berkshires for an overnight stay in Lenox, MA to experience the newly renovated Blantyre Resort and their unveiling of a Dom Pérignon Champagne bar. It’s the only Dom Pérignon inspired champagne bar in North America. We enjoyed light bites and champagne in the indoor bar, the La Cave, but there is also an outdoor bar called The Cloister. La Cave is a sophisticated speakeasy inspired space with dim lighting and the feel of being in a literal cave or a wine cellar. The menu includes New England oysters, cavier and tater tots, and an assortment of pate and cheeses. It’s a great place to cool down in the summer and I imagine it would feel quite cozy in the fall and winter.
Blantyre is a gorgeous country estate tucked away on 110 acres of land with a stunning view of the Berkshire woodlands. I can only imagine it in the Fall when the leaves change! The main house harkens to the Gilded Age and there are four cottages and a carriage house with eleven suites. We stayed in the Ice House cottage. I loved the blue and white decor and canopied bed in our room. I also loved the little touches such as shelves adorned with books and free snacks in the mini bar. The hotel is not kid friendly. We were on a press trip and an exception was made for Harry. It is the perfect romantic getaway — quiet, beautiful, and relaxing. We had an event the next day and had to head back home to Rhode Island but I really want to plan a trip to the Berkshires this Fall. I would love to come back to tour the Norman Rockwell Museum, Edith Wharton’s property the Mount, and do a little antiquing. The Berkshires is a really special place with lots of small town charm.
Special thank you to Blantyre Resort and Dom Pérignon for this experience.
