Italian Vespa Adventure
August 10, 2018
No Italian vacation would be complete without a cruise around town on a Vespa. I felt very much like Lizzie in the Lizzie McGuire movie. It’s the perfect vehicle to navigate narrow cobblestone roads when you’re seeking a good place to stop for gelato.
During our travels I popped into Margherita in Assisi and purchased this ensemble. The shop was a welcome surprise as most of the stores in Assisi appeared to be tourist shops selling souvenirs. The shop’s owner, Margherita, is the mother of Fashion Designer Vivetta Ponti. Vivetta’s eponymous line Vivetta is whimsical yet elegant with a keen attention to detail. Margherita carried several samples including one of a kind pieces from Vivetta’s collection. The hand collar is her signature piece and the perfect souvenir for my Italian trip. I also left the store with a Vivetta dress in a fun firefly print, these cropped flare jeans that I didn’t expect to love as much as I do, and this hat. Vivetta’s mother and grandmother were in the shop and were as sweet as can be. I’m looking forward to seeing what Vivetta has in store for her upcoming collections.
