My Favorite Winter Boots

Boots from top to Bottom: Hunter Boots, Hunter Boots c/o, LL Bean c/o, LL Bean, Sigerson Morrison (Linked latest version of my boot, this style is nearly identical in appearance), and Montelliana
Right after Halloween my thoughts immediately turn to winter. Kiel and I usually experience our first snowfall around Thanksgiving when we spend the holiday in New Hampshire with Kiel’s family. I love to stock up on winter essentials such as boots and knee socks a few weeks in advance of Black Friday to bring along on my trip. I find that my favorite boots always sell out very early in the season with the exception of staples such as LL Bean boots and Hunter Boots. In the past LL Bean has famously sold out of their bean boots at the beginning of Fall but they have since ramped up on production to keep up with the demand.
In the pictures above I’ve highlighted my favorite boots to wear throughout the colder months. Here is a rundown of my go to winter styles.
1. Hunter Boots: I’ve been wearing Hunter Boots for many years and find them to be suitable for all seasons. I prefer the matte over the glossy and in the winter I wear mine with a thick pair of over the knee socks or these down inserts. The inserts kept my feet really toasty during a ski trip to Utah last year. I also love these faux fur trim socks. My black boots are the Original Hunter Boots and the green pair are the Packable Tour Boots. I wear both styles often but if I had to choose I love the Packable Tour Boots. They fold over and are easy to pack in a luggage or duffel bag. I also find them to be less stiff and more comfortable to walk around in all day. In addition to the featured black and green boots, I have a brown pair of Hunters that I tend to wear all the time. If you are between sizes go a half size down.
2. LL Bean Boots: Bean boots are a New England staple. They are great for rain, slush and unpredictable weather. The original style is not the warmest boot for a day in the snow but LL Bean offers a pair with a shearling liner. I love to wear mine with camp socks, jeans, and a cozy sweater or with tights and a skirt or dress for a layered look. If you are between sizes go a half size down.
3. Sigerson Morrison Hiking Boots: I bought this pair of boots a couple of years ago for a New Year’s trip to Germany and Switzerland. They are my absolute favorite winter boots. The shearling lining keeps my feet really warm even when I am jumping around in the snow. It can be a challenge to look stylish in the winter but I feel stylish every time I put these on. This boot is perfectly narrow, sleek, and most importantly comfortable. For the past couple of years whenever I have tried to link similar styles they have been sold out. While this exact pair is not available I did link the updated version from Sigerson Morrison and this look alike pair from Marc Fisher. I found them to be true to size.
4. Montelliana Boots:  Montelliana hiking boots are incredibly warm and stylish. I bought this grey pair for a ski trip last winter. The last picture in this post is from my phone and the only picture I had readily available of them. I purchased them late in the season last year. I really love the way these look. I’m excited to style them in the coming months. They are extremely comfortable. If you are between sizes order a half size up.

I LOVE everything about the first picture, but especially the sweater! I’m always on the hunt for a good Fair Isle sweater; where did you come across that one?! I love a chunky knit in neutrals *swoon*

Thank you so much! The fair isle is from J.Crew. I bought it a few years ago. It’s one of my favorite winter sweaters. I wear it all season long

I live in my Bean boots during the winter, they’re the perfect mix of cute and practical. I love how you styled them in the picture with Bennie. They look so cute with the skirt and fun socks peaking over the top.
    Cheers,

I love my Hunter boots for winter too! You can wear extra socks so they are warm in the snow, and they are actually waterproof, unlike actual snow boots! They also add a nice pop of color to a winter outfit!
