Summer Snaps

Right after Memorial Day Weekend summer mode officially kicks in for me. I’m loving all of the time spent outdoors with my family. We started a new tradition of having pizza and wine on our front porch on Friday evenings. It’s a safe space for Kiel and I to relax as the porch is almost completely baby proofed. We live in a very quiet neighborhood and I love to hear the sounds of the birds chirping amidst Harry’s laughter. It’s been a busy couple of months with our brand. We still have lots of new releases coming in the next couple of weeks including children’s sweaters. I’m very excited about this! I haven’t had too much time to post on here but wanted to share a few iPhone images from my last couple of weeks.

Earlier this week we stayed at Weekapaug Inn for a sneak peek at their newest pop up collaboration with Louis Roerderer champagne. I will be sharing more on that in the weeks to come. The first family image is from the opening ceremony to unveil the secret pop up. We somehow managed to take a cute photo on the first try even though Harry and Bennie weren’t exactly looking at the photo. (Take note of Harry’s miniature KJP anchor sweater. I can’t wait to release them!) The second set of pictures is a take on the many images we attempted to get the perfect family photo — none of them came out but I’m cherishing the outtakes. If you are planning a trip to the Inn, a harbor cruise on the Quonnie Queen electrical Elco boat is a must. It’s a gorgeous boat for parties up to 6.

Outfit Details: Dress: Zara, Blazer: J.Crew, Sandals: Alexandre Birman, Bag: Pamela Munson c/o;

Sweater: Ralph Lauren, Pants: Vineyard Vines, Sandals: Zara

Bennie is the happiest by the water! If a dog could smile I would say that Bennie smiled the entire boat ride. She was mostly content to take in the scenery until we glided past a gathering of cormorants on the rocks. We had to stop her from jumping overboard.

The last time we visited the Weekpaug Inn Harry was only 3 months old. We took a very similar photo (minus Bennie) of Harry wearing Hunter Boots in front of the inn’s Hunter Boot closet. I covered it in this post here. Guests can borrow Hunter pieces from the closet to wear on the many outdoor activities that can be enjoyed on and around the property. Harry is obsessed with his Hunter Boots. He always wants to put them on even if he’s wearing pajamas. I thought this photo was too cute not to share.

With the onset of the warmer weather the rhododendrons and azaleas in our yard finally started to bloom. They appeared seemingly overnight and just as quickly are wilting to make way for summer hydrangeas and roses. These pictures above are from a week ago. We enjoyed a beautiful al fresco dinner in front of our mountain of a rhododendron bush. I hope we never trim it! I would love to make a yearly tradition of this. Sharing more images of this dinner in a later post.

My friend Loren Hope just opened her flagship store in Newport. Last weekend Kiel and I stopped by the grand opening party to check out her new space. Loren creates the most beautiful jewelry. I’m always amazed at the attention to detail she puts into her line. It’s no surprise that she paid the same attention to the aesthetic of her shop. It is a treasure trove of jewels and fun trinkets including shell shaped pillows and vintage inspired hotel key fobs– definitely worth a visit if you are planning a trip or live in the area. Loren plans to host jewelry making classes at the shop later this summer. Stay tuned!

This sandbox for Harry is one of my favorite purchases this summer.  He loves to play in the sand on the beach for hours. It’s a great source of entertainment for him along with his John Deere Tractor. I wanted to bring a bit of the beach to him at home. I love this sandbox in particular because of the shade it provides. Harry loves being outdoors and the midday sun is very harsh even with layers of sunblock on. This sandbox has a vinyl roof that protects him from the sun’s strongest rays and can also be lowered at the end of each use to protect the sand from rain and neighborhood cats. I will point out that it came unassembled and took a couple of hours to put together. The instructions were fairly easy to follow, although assembling anything can be a bit of a pain. I’m very pleased with the end product.

Any time I walk into Target for very specific household necessities I always wind up bringing home at least ten other random items that I don’t particularly need but want none the less. Target has the cutest items and the way everything is perfectly displayed makes it nearly impossible to walk out empty handed. On my last trip I came across this fun whale sprinkler. I haven’t seen anything like it before. Kiel and I picked it up for Harry and he has had the best time running underneath the water with Bennie. I really wish I had one of these when I was a kid!

Currently putting together my summer bucket list. I’m looking forward to more summertime adventures with my family! In Bennie, Harry has found his very best friend. Kiel and I love the simple moments just watching the two of them chase each other around the yard. Everything changes so quickly and we are content to stay home (as often as we can) and enjoy these moments. My weekend includes a little work, a BBQ dinner, and a day spent by the pool tomorrow. What are your weekend plans?
