Spring at the Shire

Spring has sprung at the Shire! Kiel and I took these family photos a couple of days before Easter at the Hobbit Hole at the Preserve in Rhode Island. A few months back we had the pleasure of eating inside the hobbit hole with friends for dinner. The inside is as cozy as you can imagine, especially when there is a fire roaring, candles lit on the table, and cozy fur blankets draped on the chairs. One of these days I need to share what it looks like. The pictures taken during the day just don’t do it justice.
My favorite part of this day was holding these sweet Dutch bunnies. We fell in love and ended up contacting the breeder to take one of our very own home. Harry has named her cookie. She has a very mild temperament and likes to be held. I never grew up with bunnies and it has been fun to learn and care for her.
In this post I’m wearing a Barbour waxed jacket that I have had for at least 10 years. I couldn’t find the name of it online. I imagine it’s been a while since they last carried it. It’s one of my favorite pieces that I wear often in the spring. Still wearing lots of layers here — the long skirts and sweater combo has become my go to outfit this time of year. The Preserve is very outdoorsy and I paired this look with my Hunter Boots which are great for traversing muddy paths in the Spring.
