Sharing a few iPhone snapshots of my experience at the Ralph Lauren 50th anniversary show in Central Park. To say it was a magical evening is an understatement. The black tie event to honor the visionary who pioneered classic all American fashion was a star studded affair. I was so nervous and excited to take a picture with him. Ralph Lauren has been my style inspiration for years.
I really enjoyed how each runway look highlighted the brand’s history and timelessness. Models both young and old were fashioned in a array of styles that melded western, collegiate, and glamorous evening wear — an aesthetic that Ralph Lauren has perfected over the years. I wanted everything. One of the models walked the runway with a young baby in his arms dressed in fair isle and fast asleep. It was one of the sweetest things I have witnessed. When Ralph walked down the stairs for the show’s finale it was a very special moment. The energy in the room was palpable.
After the show guests were ushered outside for dinner. Oprah started off the second part of the evening with a speech before handing the mic to the man of the evening. It was a surreal moment in time I will never forget.
For this event I wore a Ralph Lauren dress that I bought a few years ago. I dressed it up with a pair of glitzy Isabel Marant heels to give my look a little more glam.
Thank you to the Ralph Lauren team for having us! The last two photos in this post are credited to Ralph Lauren.
