Last week Kiel and I spent a great deal of time preparing for our annual Kiel James Patrick Valentine’s Day shoot and the launch of our Sweetheart Dress Collection. Our new bow shift dress comes in three different colors — blue, pink, and mint green. The bows are detachable for a subtle look.

This winter the Ocean House is offering a really unique experience for hotel guests — an authentic fondue dinner for up to four people in a vintage ski gondola. Romantic and cozy, the Veuve Clicquot gondola is lined with faux fur blankets and alpine motif pillows. Guests have the option to borrow a ski coat for extra warmth. The first weekend of December, Kiel and I stayed at the hotel on a press trip to celebrate the opening of the gondola. We were really excited to experience the gondola menu first hand — delicious meats, bread, potatoes and veggies dipped into a traditional alpine cheese fondue and served alongside different pairings of vintage Veuve Clicquot champagnes.
Truth be told I love dressing for Valentine’s Day more than celebrating the actual holiday itself. Every day should be a reason to celebrate romance! I welcome any excuse to wear pink and red — one of my favorite color combos. I also love a good heart print. Dressing up for Valentine’s Day is always fun whether you are hanging out with your loved one, heading to work, or going out with friends. The bold colors and prints are a bright spot in the dead of winter.

It’s been a relatively mild winter in New England. I really want snow and all of the beauty a winter wonderland brings but I’m also content with these slightly warmer temps. We took these pictures in the middle of November during our trip to Stowe, Vermont to shoot a few pieces from our Kiel James Patrick holiday collection.

The Mount Washington Hotel has always slightly reminded me of the iconic Timberline Lodge, the famously eerie hotel filmed in the movie The Shining. It’s grand and beautiful in a way that only old hotels can be. Over the years Kiel and I have stayed at the Mount Washington, located in New Hampshire, numerous times. It’s one of our favorite places to recharge and feel inspired. They also throw a fabulous New Year’s Eve party! We return year after year for the cozy environment, gorgeous mountain range views, delicious food, skiing, and real life ghost story.
