Ocean House Fondue Express

This winter the Ocean House is offering a really unique experience for hotel guests — an authentic fondue dinner for up to four people in a vintage ski gondola. Romantic and cozy, the Veuve Clicquot gondola is lined with faux fur blankets and alpine motif pillows. Guests have the option to borrow a ski coat for extra warmth. The first weekend of December, Kiel and I stayed at the hotel on a press trip to celebrate the opening of the gondola. We were really excited to experience the gondola menu first hand — delicious meats, bread, potatoes and veggies dipped into a traditional alpine cheese fondue and served alongside different pairings of vintage Veuve Clicquot champagnes. It was so good that I was inspired to recreate this meal at home (minus the vintage champagne)! We had a wonderful time at the opening ceremony with our friends Lauren, Matt, and Riley. The private three course meal is offered through March 31st. For more details visit the Ocean House website here.

There is nothing quite like the Ocean House in the Summer but I forget how relaxing it can be in the winter. The weather during this weekend was just warm enough to bundle up and explore the empty beach. Harry didn’t know what to make of walking on the beach sand and we loved watching him run free. The Ocean House looming above the desolate landscape is always a beautiful site to behold. The hotel has plenty of activities if you are looking for a relaxing getaway this winter– wine tastings, cooking classes, spa treatments, fitness and art classes, indoor swimming, and movie screenings throughout the day. I’m usually content to just eat the entire time I’m there as the food is always amazing! We ended our trip with breakfast in bed before heading back home to get back to work. The holiday season is always the busiest time for our company.

Special thank you to the Ocean House for an amazing weekend!
