The unofficial first weekend of Summer is upon us! Kiel, Harry, and I are headed to the Vineyard for our upcoming stay at the newly renovated Harborview Hotel. We haven’t been to the island in a while and I’m excited to return. Hopefully the weather is warm! I love packing for this weekend as it’s usually the first time in the season that I can break out all of my nautical stripes, summer sweaters, white pants, and summery dresses. I like to keep my Memorial Day weekend travel attire casual but polished.
Kiel and I moved into our new home almost a year ago and we are finally starting to renovate some of the rooms. The first room on our list is our guest room. We have family and friends stay over often and really wanted to create a welcoming, comfortable space. Right now we pretty much have just a bed and a couple of pictures on the wall — the decor is very minimal.
This year Kiel and I attended the Kentucky Derby on behalf of Mass Mutual who sponsored my trip. Our weekend at Churchill Downs was gorgeous aside from the rain on Saturday. My absolute favorite part of the Derby is the people watching and mint juleps. It’s amazing to see so many people in one place dressed up so beautifully.
