The Red Quilted Jacket

Fall is in the air! Excited to dress for my favorite season with Talbots. This quilted jacket is the perfect layering piece for a brisk September morning in the mountains! I love the pop of red it brings to my ensemble. I’ve been wearing corduroy jeggings from Talbots for a few years now and they continue to be one of my favorite fall pant styles to pair with my sweaters and jackets for casual autumn outings.

Exactly one week ago, Kiel and I enjoyed a beautiful day on the water with Barton & Gray to watch the Newport Bermuda Race. The water was a little rough with the weather but I didn’t mind it knowing we were still very close to the shore.

Happy to be back spending early summer mornings in the garden with my little golden helpers. I’m really looking forward to sharing all of the veggies and flowers we have growing once the season progresses. So far we have harvested russet potatoes that were planted in March. Harry had the best time digging them up.

Home is our happy place! Every year, at the start of summer, we take this family photo on the front lawn of our house when the rhododendrons are in bloom. This will be the last year we will likely hold Harry as he has grown so much this year. It makes me sad when I really stop to think about it, but I’m loving our conversations, his adventurous spirit, and seeing his personality unfold.

Twin Gables, the storied seaside estate in Narragansett, Rhode Island was the backdrop for our Kiel James Patrick Summer photo shoot. The home was originally built by Charles H. Pope, a wealthy broker from New York, in 1883. Full of character and charm, it sets the scene for a magical New England summer.

Getting ready for the first unofficial weekend of Summer! With these warmer May temps it feels like we have dived right into the season. We love spending time on the lake this time of year for canoe rides, sunsets, and swims. I’m wearing one of our latest Kiel James Patrick designs — the Cape Bay Striped Dress.

I can never get enough of the scent of lilacs. It always reminds me of childhood summers. I love filling them up in vases around the house. They always makes our home smell amazing. Lilac season is short but I look forward to it every year.

Ever since I was little I have always wanted a room filled with books and my own cozy reading nook. The den in our house (featured in these pictures) fulfills that childhood goal of mine. We recently updated the space in collaboration with Sunbrella and I love the way it came together.

Our Greenhouse is ready for Easter Weekend! We filled it with blooms for a couple of recent Kiel James Patrick spring photoshoots. The site of this space filled with flowers always makes me so happy! I brought the daffodils and tulips outdoors to decorate our front porch and chicken coop.
